Frequently Asked Questions
Why should I choose custom invitations?
Your invitations reflect your personal style and set the tone for your special event! I personally meet with each client to ensure your invitations are specific to your needs and help bring your ideas to life. I will work with you to find the perfect paper, fonts, and wording for your invitations.
When should I place my order?
I can begin the process as soon as your event date, time and location are confirmed. I suggest setting up an appointment about 6 months or earlier prior to your event date so we have enough time for design and production. It is customary to send out wedding invitations 6-8 weeks prior to the wedding date, so please keep that in mind when placing an order for custom wedding invitations.
What is your custom ordering process?
1) Call or email to set up an appointment.
2) Meet to go over your design options and stationary needs.
3) Receive a free quote for your order.
4) If you choose to move forward, we require a 50% down payment.
5) Hard copy proofs will be created for you and we will meet again to review and go over changes.
6) Sign a contract for your final proofs and Production will begin.
7) Final Payment is due after your entire order is completed.
Do you take out-of-state orders?
Absolutely... many of our clients are not local and unable to meet in person. Not a problem! I will work with you over email correspondance. The same steps as listed above, except over email and your proofs and order will be mailed to you.
Do you accept rush orders?
Absolutely... assuming my current workload allows for this. Rush fees may apply. Please contact me 815.212.0160 to inquire about rush orders.
Are the invitations assembled?
Yes, the price quotes include the assembly of the invitation. The only thing you will need to do is put together your inserts if applicable and place stamps on your envelopes. If you are a DIY bride, I can print the pieces for you and you can assemble the papers and embellishments on your own as an option.
Do you print the addresses on the envelopes or offer Calligraphy?
I can your print your guest addresses on your envelopes with your font choice for a flat fee or I can recommend a calligrapher. Custom addressing adds a nice touch to any invitation. I would suggest either printing or calligraphing the addresses on your envelopes. This gives you an elegant finish!
